Santa Maria in Publicolis is a Baroque convent church commissioned by wealthy Cardinal Marcello Santacroce in the 17th century as a funeral church and mausoleum for his nearby Santacroce palazzo.
The inside is decorated with faux red marble, monuments and tombs of the Santacroce family.
At the main altar is the Nativity of Our Lady by Baroque artist Raffaello Vanni.
