San Lorenzo in Miranda

information: the facade of the church can be seen from inside the forum but the entry to the church is on Via in Miranda through the building belonging to the College of Chemists and Pharmacists

San Lorenzo in Miranda was first built in the 7th or 8th century inside the ancient Roman Temple of Antoninus and Faustina in the Roman Forum.
In the 15th century Pope Martin V gave the church to the College of Apothecaries and in 1602 a new church was built.
The church interior is Baroque and was decorated with altarpieces by Pietro da Cortona and Domenichino.
